A slim, symmetrical body shape which offers little resistance to biting fish and strikes through the water very cleanly.
C1 have 1.25mm hollow tips, whereas C2 have slightly bigger 1.75mm hollow tips. So both are refined but the C2 has the slightly more buoyant tip. Both are suitable for a wide variety of types and sizes of bait but the 1.75mm thick tips on the C2 makes them a little better when laying some line on the bottom and obviously easier to see at a distance and in difficult light conditions. And C1 are just that little bit more sensitive.
Stems are 0.8mm (C1) and 1.0mm (C2) clear fibreglass as this material has an excellent combination of strength and stability. Stems are a decent length also as that helps again with stability for a slim float. As with any pole float though stems can be trimmed to suit personal preference (even winder sizes).
The ring eyes, which are placed over the hollow tips for added strength, sit at the very top of the balsa body and are blackened stainless steel. These have a proper, fully formed, ring to hold and protect the line. Some ring eyes are either made of too many coils making them a bit too bulky (not nice on slim bodies) and also without a single fully formed ring. This can allow the line to become snagged in a corner of the formed wire ‘loop’ and even snagged & broken.
