Fluorocarbon Pure Specimen Carp differs from our other Fluorocarbon Pure but is still a superior grade Fluorocarbon and not a coated nylon.
Fluorocarbon resists sunlight much more than nylon lines and does not degrade the same. It also does not absorb water like nylon, so it is excellent when leaving a rig in water for many hours and overnight.
Fluorocarbon’s specific gravity of approximately 1.78 is much higher than nylon, so it is denser and heavier and lays better on the bottom.
Fluorocarbon is stiffer than nylon, and Fluorocarbon Pure Specimen Carp is even stiffer than our other Fluorocarbon. This makes it perfect for many common rigs, including Stiff “D” rigs, combi rigs with braid and even boom sections. This stiffness also enhances its anti-tangle and anti-eject properties.
Despite its relative stiffness, it ties up extremely well and can be used with various common knots from Grinner, Palomar and even the No-Knot. It has reliable strength for knots that are well tied and lubricated, but, as is normal, different knot types provide differing degrees of strength. Fluorocarbon does not like heat caused by friction, so unlike nylon, which can often be knotted very successfully without wetting, Fluorocarbon benefits from wetting.
A durable, abrasion-resistant line and long-lasting for its type. Its formulation makes it a superb rig and hooklength line.
It has a good degree of stretch for its type and helps absorb the lunges of fish, especially when under the rod top and at netting range.
Being available in 40m spools means it is extremely good value for money when most comparable Fluorocarbons only offer as little as 20m. With short rigs, you often waste as much line as you use because you need a certain amount of line in your hands to tie the rig properly, so now you can tie up many more rigs per spool.
The four diameters and breaking stains cover the most commonly required sizes for various specimen and carp fishing applications.
